PHYTO-SOMATIC DANCE PARTY

WORKSHOP
PARTICIPATIVE PERFORMANCE

A collective sensory dive into life and communication at molecular scale - a microbiology of relatedness. It combines guided practice and a party, methodical approach of a laboratory with social intimacy of celebration. It is co-driven by live electronic music crafted from field recordings, creating grooves echoing the polyrhythms of our bodies.

It welcomes everyone who feels like exploring through embodiment, grooving, sweating, co-regulating.

Following the question: “What is inside of us?” we trace currents of self-organizing and communicating that move through particles, tissues, gestures, (folk) dances, and chants - bringing out the tangibility of the invisible. We focus on epithelium as an interface. Here, the cellular and cosmic, the material and energetic, continuously intertwine. Dance and music serve as tools to swell out beyond our bodily contours. We become a boundless community of cells, rhythms, and flows recognizing our more-than-human sociality.

The practice includes touch, movement, and voice explorations. No previous experience is needed, only curiosity and openness to sensing and experiencing together.

What you can experience:
  • Get to know insights into microbiology of relatedness
  • Transmute daily toil into sources of joy and release
  • Explore sources of unrestricted movement
  • Connect to your prevertebral digestive knowledge and cellular intelligence
  • Get in contact with plants
  • Tap into non-metric grooves, polyphonic resonances, and circular dramaturgies based in Polish traditions
  • Create a deeper sense of connection with others

“Every plant seems to invent and open a cosmic plane where there is no opposition between matter and fantasy, between imagination and self-development.”“Imagine being made of the same substance as the world that surrounds you; being of the same nature as music – a series of vibrations of the air, like a jellyfish, which is no more than a thickening of water. (…) our eyes are ears. to feel is always to touch, both oneself and the universe that surrounds us.”
