DANCE IN PLANTHROPO-SCENE

THREE-PART SINGLE-CHANNEL VIDEO ESSAY

Dance in Planthroposcene is a video essay unfolding as a sensorial inquiry into life and communication at molecular scale. It is inspired by Natasha Myers’ call to vegetalize human sensorium. The work traces currents of self-organizing and communicating that move through particles, tissues, gestures, (folk) dances, and chants. Here, the cellular and cosmic, the material and energetic, continuously intertwine. Dance and music serve as tools to swell out beyond bodily contours, facilitating the process of becoming a boundless community of cells, rhythms, and flows.

Through phyto-somatic choreography, intimate camerawork, animation, and processed field recordings creating grooves echoing the polyrhythms of living bodies, video operates as a chemical reaction where forms dissolve into pulses and frequencies and recompose into new constellations, becoming vessels for the tangible presence of the unseen.
